Jonathan Cagan, Ph.D.,P.E., is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, with appointments in the School of Design, Biomedical and Health Engineering, and Computer Science. Stephen Stadelmeier is an Associate Professor in the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University, and a member of the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems faculty. His research, teaching and consulting are in the area of design process, rehabilitation mobility, and industrial design education. His personal interest is in the design of products as extensions of human capability. He holds a B.F.A. from the University of the Arts, and an M.S.ID from Cornell University.

Jeremy Michalek

Jeremy is Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineeringresearch focuses on decision-making in design. He is interested in the preferences that drive design decisions as well as the impact of those decisions on public and private stakeholders. Drawing upon research in economics, marketing, psychology, and public policy as well as engineering and design optimization, Michalek pursues three primary thrust areas:Systems Optimization, Market Modeling, and Environmental Policy.

   
Peter Boatwright, Ph.D
Peter Boatwright is associate professor of marketing in Tepper. He received his B.S. from Wheaton College, M.S. from University of Wisconsin (Madison), M.B.A. from University of Chicago, and Ph.D. from University of Chicago. His teaching and research interests include Quantitative aspects of marketing including consumer response models, analysis of promotional activities, Bayesian econometrics, and consumer response to assortment (collections of products).

Thomas Emerson, Ph.D
S.Thomas Emerson is the director of the Donald H.Jones Center for Entrepreneurship program. He holds an S.B. in physics from Massachussetts Institute of Technology and an M.A. and Ph.D in physics from Rice University. Dr. Emerson was president and CEO of Arizona Technology Incubator (public -private partnership that mentors promising young technology companies) before joining Carnegie Mellon. >more

Bruce Hanington teaches industrial design, human factors, and research methods for human-centered design. He is interested in the cultural context of artifacts, exploring the connections between ritual and artifact, and discovering object qualities that enhance the experience of product use. B.A. in Psychology; M.E.Des. in Industrial Design, The University of Calgary. Associate Professor and Area head of Industrial Design.

John Mather, Ph.D
John H. Mather, Ph.D. is Executive Director of MBA Programs and Principal Lecturer in Marketing in Tepper. Dr. Mather received his B.A. from the University of Rochester, M.B.A. from Ohio University, and Ph.D. from University of Arizona. He has over twenty years experience as director of marketing information and strategic planning for Ketchum Communications and Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, and has been contributor to several articles and books concerning consumer segmentation strategy, strategic positioning and marketing communications and consultant to companies and non-profit organizations. His teaching interests include business-to-business marketing, marketing research, strategic positioning and planning, integrated marketing communications, new product development, segmentation strategies, marketing of technology.

Laurie Weingart, Ph.D
Laurie R. Weingart is an associate professor of organizational behavior at the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She holds a BS from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in Industrial Psychology, and a MS and Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. At GSIA, Laurie teaches MBA courses on negotiation and organizational behavior. . >more
